HILLSBORO, Kan. – Sonya Zimmerman, Ethan Kutz, and Evan Williams have been named as this week's Hillsboro Ford PowerJays of the Week for their efforts during last week's slate of competition. This marks Zimmerman's second time winning the award, while it is the first for both Kutz and Williams.
 
HILLSBORO FORD FEMALE POWERJAY OF THE WEEK: SONYA ZIMMERMAN, WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD
 
Sonya Zimmerman is a Senior from Valley Center, Kan.
 
Zimmerman posted a fantastic evening on Friday, competing in the Coyote Challenge in Salina, Kan. hosted by Kansas Wesleyan, winning the women's 800m race with a time of 2:17.14 and beating several athletes from the NCAA Division I and II levels.
 
HILLSBORO FORD MALE POWERJAYS OF THE WEEK: ETHAN KUTZ, MEN'S TENNIS & EVAN WILLIAMS, BASEBALL
 
Ethan Kutz is a Senior from Sheridan, Wyo. and Evan Williams is a Senior from Sandpoint, Idaho.
 
Kutz had himself a day last Monday, helping the Bluejay men earn a much-needed road win over Friends. Kutz helped clinch the doubles point alongside teammate and cousin, Peter Jost, and earned the 2-0 win in his singles matches. He also dominated both singles matches on Saturday against Oklahoma Wesleyan, winning both by scores of 6-1.
 
Williams had an impressive day on Friday, sitting down 18 batters in a complete-game win. He finished the game with a 1.29 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP, only allowing one total/earned run and only walking two batters. The 18 strikeouts are a Tabor College record for single-game strikeouts.
