HILLSBORO, Kan. –
Lillie Veer and
Vance Shewey have been named as this week's Hillsboro Ford PowerJays of the Week for their efforts during the week's slate of competition. This marks the fifth time that Veer has received this award and the second time for Shewey.
HILLSBORO FORD FEMALE POWERJAY OF THE WEEK: LILLIE VEER: WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Lillie Veer is a Sophomore from Newton, Kan.
Veer played a big part in each of the Lady Bluejays' wins last week, shooting 85.7% (6-7) from the field and 80% (4-5) from beyond the arc in Wednesday's rout of McPherson, and shooting 66.7% (4-6) from the field in Saturday's win over Sterling. Outside of her scoring efforts, Veer tallied five boards against McPherson and two against Sterling and dished out five assists against McPherson.

Vance Shewey is a Senior from Meade, Kan.
Shewey had a big weekend at the Washburn Open in Topeka, Kan. hosted by Washburn University. Shewey took 2
ndplace in the Men's High Jump with a height of 2.07m, 0.01m better than the NAIA "A" Standard, which means he has secured a spot at the 2025 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
