HILLSBORO, Kan. – Alyvia Owens and Niieihii Blackbear have been named as this week's Hillsboro Ford PowerJays of the Week for their efforts during last week's action. This marks the first time either athlete has been honored with this award.
 
HILLSBORO FORD FEMALE POWERJAY OF THE WEEK: ALYVIA OWENS, WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
 
Alyvia Owens is a Graduate Student from Hutchinson, Kan.
 
Owens had a monster night on the road at John Brown University on Thursday evening, pouring in 27 points to help lead the Bluejays past the Eagles. The most impressive part about Owens' performance is the fact that she shot an impressive 11-12 and 91.7% from the field. Owens was also named KCAC Offensive Player of the Week for her performance.
 
HILLSBORO FORD MALE POWERJAY OF THE WEEK: NIIEIHII BLACKBEAR, MEN'S BASKETBALL
 
Niieihii Blackbear is a Senior from Arapahoe, Wyo.
 
Blackbear recorded a double-double in his debut in a Bluejay uniform in last Tuesday's season-opener against Central Christian College, tallying 12 points and 13 rebounds.
