Josephine Fuamatu,
Julianna Maxfield, and
Brooks Gardner have been named as this week's Hillsboro Ford PowerJays of the Week for their performances during last week's action. This marks the first time any of these athletes has earned this award.
HILLSBORO FORD FEMALE POWERJAYS OF THE WEEK: JOSEPHINE FUAMATU, VOLLEYBALL & JULIANNA MAXFIELD, WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Josephine Fuamatu is a Sophomore from Long Beach, Calif., and
Julianna Maxfield is a Sophomore from Fullerton, Neb.
Fuamatu led the Lady Bluejays with 18 kills in their match at Avila last Friday, totaling 26 kills on the week.
Maxfield led the Lady Bluejays in the 6000m race at the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic last weekend, recording a personal record in the process with a time of 24:10.76.
HILLSBORO FORD MALE POWERJAY OF THE WEEK: BROOKS GARDNER, FOOTBALL
Brooks Gardner recorded nine solo tackles in Saturday's overtime win over Avila, but the real highlight of Gardner's day came from an 85-yard pick six in overtime to seal the deal and give the Bluejays a 2-0 start in Bissell Division play.
