HILLSBORO, Kan. – Darcy Gillen and
Garryn Plummer have been named as this week's Hillsboro Ford PowerJays of the Week for their efforts during last week's action. This marks the first time that either athlete has received this award.
HILLSBORO FORD FEMALE POWERJAY OF THE WEEK: DARCY GILLEN, SOFTBALL
Darcy Gillen is a Senior from Yuba City, Calif.
Gillen had a solid week, leading Bluejay Softball with eight total RBIs and going 5-11 on the week. Perhaps her most impressive performances game in the series against Southwestern on Sunday, where she recorded multi-run homers in each of the two contests against the Moundbuilders. Her efforts helped the team go 3-1 on the week.
HILLSBORO FORD MALE POWERJAY OF THE WEEK: GARRYN PLUMMER, BASEBALL
Garryn Plummer is a Senior from Wichita, Kan.
Plummer batted .471 (8-17) on the week and boasted a .590 on base percentage including a .833 on base percentage in the first game against Sterling. Most impressively, he recorded three homers and three doubles and ended the week with 10 RBIs.
