HILLSBORO, Kan. – Bluejay Cross Country swept this week's Hillsboro Ford PowerJays of the Week awards with
Sonya Zimmerman and
Logan Dybowski earning the award for the first time this season for their performances on Saturday.
HILLSBORO FORD FEMALE POWERJAY OF THE WEEK: SONYA ZIMMERMAN, WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Sonya Zimmerman is a Senior Studio Art major hailing from Valley Center, Kan.
Zimmerman exploded in her second meet of the season, taking first out of 70 runners in the women's 5k race with a time of 19:39.1, paving the way for the Lady Bluejays to clinch their first meet title of the season at the Muthama-Rogers Cross Country Invitational hosted by Bethel College.
HILLSBORO FORD MALE POWERJAY OF THE WEEK: LOGAN DYBOWSKI, MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Logan Dybowski hails from Lakehills, Texas and majors in Criminal Justice.
Dybowski led a strong Tabor pack with a sixth-place finish, running a 27:58.3 8k time to help cement the Bluejay Men as runners-up at the Muthama-Rogers Cross Country Invitational, their first podium finish under first-year Head Coach Jonathon Wood
