Cody Moore have been named as this week's Hillsboro Ford PowerJays of the Week for their extraordinary perfomances last week.
HILLSBORO FORD FEMALE POWERJAYS OF THE WEEK: MADISON NELSON & CHEYENNE WASHINGTON, SOFTBALL
Madison Nelson is a Senior from Turlock, Calif. and
Cheyenne Washington is a Senior from Stockton, Calif.
Nelson had a great weekend at the Branson Grand-Slam Classic, throwing a complete-game no-hitter to lead the Bluejays past Mount Marty in the first game of the tournament. She recorded six strikeouts and gave up only one walk, facing 23 batters and throwing 85 pitches. On the weekend, she recorded nine strikeouts and a total ERA of 1.87.
Washington had a fantastic weekend on the other side of the ball, batting 4.21 on the weekend and batting .750 and going 3-4 in the win over Graceland. She posted eight hits, an impressive 10 RBIs, a .450 on base percentage, and a .842 slugging percentage, not to mention not striking out once over the course of five games. She also smashed two homers on the weekend.
HILLSBORO FORD MALE POWERJAY OF THE WEEK: CODY MOORE, BASEBALL
Cody Moore is a Graduate Student from Midlothian, Texas.
Moore had a monster weekend in a much-needed series sweep of Bethany, hitting .667 (6-9) over the course of the series and boasting an impressive .785 on base percentage. Moore also recorded one homer, six RBIs, and three runs scored.
