KANSAS – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) announced the 2025-26 KCAC Women's Basketball All-Conference teams and award winners. Student-athletes were selected for all awards by vote of KCAC head women's basketball coaches.
Tayton Smith was named as the KCAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Year for her efforts throughout the course of the season. She was tied for the lead in the KCAC in rebounds per game (9.6), third in the KCAC in defensive rebounds per game (6.4) and was tied for fourth in the conference in blocks per game (1.3).
Smith was also selected to the Second Team All-KCAC and the KCAC All-Defensive team. She averaged 11.8 points per game while shooting at a 55.6% (139-250) clip from the field and ranks third in the conference in field goal percentage. She also closed the regular season with 273 total rebounds (95 offensive, 178 defensive), 22 steals, and 37 blocks.
Lillie Veer was named as an Honorable Mention All-KCAC selection for her efforts throughout the season. Veer led the Bluejays offensively, averaging 12.2 points per game and shooting 43.8% (123-281) from the field while also dishing out 43 assists, snagging 24 steals, and hauling in 99 total rebounds (35-64).
Smith, Veer, and the Lady Bluejays are back in action on Saturday afternoon as they head down to Wichita to take on the No. 3 seeded Friends Falcons in the KCAC Women's Basketball Tournament Semifinals. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00pm.
