STRONG OVERTIME PERIOD PROPELS BLUEJAYS PAST FRIENDS IN KCAC TOURNAMENT SEMIFINALS

WICHITA, Kan. – After much anticipation, Saturday afternoon brought the KCAC Women's Basketball Tournament Semifinal matchup featuring No. 7 seeded Tabor and No. 3 seeded Friends. The Lady Bluejays entered the afternoon riding the momentum from their quarterfinal win over rival Bethel on Wednesday.

  • With the win, Tabor improves to 16-14 on the season and advances to the KCAC Women's Basketball Tournament Championship game on Monday against Evangel
  • Saturday's contest marks the 102nd all-time meeting between the two programs, dating back to 1976
  • Friends currently owns a 55-47 lead in the all-time series
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
  • Adrian Hazelwood and Lillie Veer led the way offensively, each finishing with 12 points in the win
  • Tayton Smith dominated the boards, cementing her status as KCAC Defensive Player of the Year, hauling in 22 total rebounds (seven offensive, 15 defensive) and recording three blocks
  • Anna Lambert also finished with 11 points to finish as the third Bluejay in double figures
  • The Bluejays held Friends to 31.6% (18-57) from the field, 22.2% (2-9) from three, and 44.4% (4-9) from the free throw line
