HILLSBORO, Kan. – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced the 2024-2025 KCAC Women's Basketball All-Conference Teams and award winners. Student-athletes were selected for all awards by vote of the KCAC head coaches.
Tabor finished the regular season ranked second in the conference with an overall record of 18-9 and a KCAC record of 16-6. There were a handful of Bluejays selected with KCAC honors this season.
Graduate Student forward
Kloe Bowin was named to the KCAC Second Team. Coach Reed had this to say about Bowin, "Kloe's been a tremendous player for us this year at both ends of the court. Kloe leads our team in Player Efficiency Rating which is an important metric we use to determine how effective our players are performing during their minutes played. She has improved each of the three years she has been at Tabor, and it is exciting to see her efforts recognized by coaches in our conference. Kloe has taken some positive steps on the offensive end of the floor this year and improved her FG% and she has gotten to the free-throw line more often and been an effective free-throw shooter."
Graduate Student forward
Alyvia Owens was named to the KCAC Second Team. "Alyvia's had a very solid season for us on the interior. She is one of the best low block players in the KCAC and she is very deserving of Second Team All-KCAC recognition. Alyvia demands a lot of attention at the offensive end of the floor, and she can score in a variety of ways. For a player with dominant strength, she shoots the basketball with amazing touch and feel which makes her tough to guard. Alyvia has also gotten to the free-throw line this year and made a career high 83.3% from the charity stripe."
Graduate Student guard/forward
Madie McCoy was named to the KCAC Honorable Mention Team. "Madie has rebounded well from a disappointing injury just before our season started that kept her out of our first ten games. Madie is one of the most productive scorers in our conference. Although her volume isn't as high as some, Madie is currently 3rd in the NAIA in PPP (Points per Possession) and she leads the NAIA in 3PT FG% (57.1%). Personally, I believe she is a top 15 player in our conference but the fact that she missed our first ten games probably hurt her in the eyes of the voters."
Sophomore guard
Lillie Veer was named to the KCAC Honorable Mention Team. "Lillie has been our most consistent guard this season and she is very deserving of Honorable Mention All-KCAC recognition. Lillie is one of the hardest workers on our team and she is a capable three level scorer. I think Lillie's defense has improved this season and she has continued to mature as a player. She has a bright future ahead of her and we look forward to watching her continue to grow as a player and leader in our program."
Graduate Student guard
Kassidy Beam was named to the KCAC Honorable Mention Team. "Kass was named Honorable Mention All-KCAC for the third consecutive year and she is very deserving of that honor. She became the career leader at Tabor in three-point field goals made and it has been great to see her grow as a player and person during her time at Tabor. Kass is one of our vocal leaders and she brings a lot of energy to practice which is very valuable for our team."
Fifth Year guard
Miyah McGee was named to the KCAC All-Defensive Team. "Miyah is very deserving of being named to the KCAC All-Defensive Team. Miyah was named KCAC Defensive Player of the Week three different times this year and she is a relentless on-ball defender. Miyah's help defense and rotations have improved throughout this season, and she has provided a lot of energy for our team on that end of the floor."
"Miyah was also named our KCAC Champion of Character. She is a fabulous teammate and competes with class and respect for her opponents. I can't think of a better person on our team to represent the core character principles of Tabor, the KCAC and the NAIA than
Miyah McGee!"
Freshman forward
Ivy Preusser was named to the KCAC All-Freshman Team. "Ivy's improved and performed well during her freshman campaign at Tabor and she is very worthy of being named to the KCAC All-Freshmen Team. Like most freshmen, there have been ups and downs as Ivy has learned how to compete at the collegiate level, but she has persevered and improved throughout the year. Ivy is a natural defender, and she has the ability to become an elite defender in our program. She also has the ability to score in bunches especially in transition. We look forward to watching her continued growth as a Bluejay!"
The 2024-2025 KCAC Women's Basketball all-conference selections highlight the impressive performance of Tabor College student-athletes throughout the season.
