HILLSBORO, Kan. -Three Bluejays are set to compete at the Indoor Track & Field Championships in Gainesville, Florida, beginning this Thursday.
Vance Shewey will kick things off at 5:00 PM Thursday, competing in the Men's High Jump. Both the prelims and finals will take place during this event.
On Friday, Julianna Maxfield and Sonya Zimmerman will race at approximately 3:15 PM in the 800 meters.
"Coach Capehart and I are both extremely excited to see our athletes compete at the national level. Qualifying for Nationals is a huge deal and we all could not be more proud of them.
Vance Shewey will have the opportunity to win a National title, which is beyond exciting. I am also extremely grateful that
Sonya Zimmerman, and
Julianna Maxfield will be competing in the 800 as well. We had lofty goals throughout our indoor season and Sonya and Julianna both rose to the occasion and put in the work to put themselves in position to qualify. These athletes are well deserving of this honor and we are all ready to see how we stack up against strong competition."Â
There will likely be live stats available, and there is a possibility of a live stream for viewers to follow the action.
