Men's Cross Country Kassidy Beam

BLUEJAYS BRING HOME HARDWARE UNDER NEW LEADERSHIP

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – The Bluejays competed Saturday morning at the Muthama-Rogers Cross Country Invitational hosted by Bethel College. Under the leadership of Head Coach Jonathon Wood, the Lady Jays achieved their first-ever overall first-place finish at the meet.

In the women's division, three Bluejays finished in the top 10. Sonya Zimmerman claimed first place with a time of 19:39. Close behind, Adrienne Selzer and Juliana Maxfield finished as a duo, with Selzer clocking in at 20:17 and Maxfield just 14 seconds behind at 20:31. Junior Lauren Aden ran a solid race, finishing 21:12. Tabor's Kylie Arnold and Sydnee Gardner followed closely, with Arnold recording 22:29 and Gardner finishing in 22:31. Freshman, Lauryn Turner continued to make strides, completing her second collegiate meet in 22:34. For the second meet of the year, the Lady Jays secured the team title with a score of 47 and an average time of 20:47, which was 11 seconds faster than the second-place team. 

In the men's 8K race, the Bluejays made a significant impact by placing three runners in the top 10. Logan Dybowski delivered an outstanding performance finishing in 27:58, just ahead of his teammate Justin Morwood, who crossed the line at 28:09. Close on their heels was Matthew Veloz, securing a top-10 spot with a time of 28:14. Nicholas Green, running solidly in the middle of the pack for Tabor, completed the course in 29:27. This strong individual performance contributed to the team's impressive overall result. The Bluejays finished in second place, with a team score of 54, demonstrating their competitive edge and depth across the lineup.

Up next for the Bluejays is the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Mo. set to kick off at 9:30 a.m.
