ASHLAND, Neb. - On Saturday, the Bluejays loaded up and headed to Nebraska for the Blazing Tiger Classic, hosted by Doane College and the College of Saint Mary. The competition was fierce, with multiple teams ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA, pushing the Bluejays to bring their best against top-tier talent.
On the women's side, the Bluejays focused on pack running throughout the 6000m race. Leading Tabor's efforts was
Julianna Maxfield, who finished in 79th place with a time of 24:10.76. Close behind, junior
Adrienne Selzer crossed the line at 24:11.41. The middle pack included strong runs from
Sonya Zimmerman,
Lauren Aden, and
Lauryn Turner, while
Kylie Arnold rounded out the team with a time of 25:51.76. The Bluejays placed 18th overall out of 27 teams, a solid performance against tough competition
The men's team aimed to strengthen their top-four finishers, securing a solid 19th-place finish against stiff competition. Leading the charge for Tabor were
Logan Dybowski, clocking in at 26:20.84, and junior
Justin Morwood, close behind with a time of 26:22.49.
Matthew Veloz followed, running a strong 26:26.54, and veteran
Nick Green rounded out the top performers for the Bluejays.
Tabor will have a week to recharge before heading to Leavenworth, Kansas, to compete in the KCAC Cross Country Championships, hosted by the University of Saint Mary.
