RESERVE BASEBALL SPLITS AN UP AND DOWN SERIES WITH HESSTON

HESSTON, Kan. – The Bluejay Reserve Baseball team had a quick turnaround, going from playing their first two games of the season on Wednesday to returning to action and hitting the road once again on Thursday. The Bluejays would split the opening series at McPherson College and would look to take both games against the Hesston College Reserve team.

Game One: Game one for the Bluejays went just about how they drew it up, getting the win over the Larks 5-1. Carson Hein started on the mound for Tabor in game one and give up only two hits. The run scored by the Larks was unearned and does not count towards Hein's ERA. Aaron Shellenberger got the win on the mound for the Bluejays in game one.

Head Reserve Coach Drake Girard had this to say about his team's performance in the first game, "The first game went great. Carson Hein went five innings and gave up one unearned run and gave up two hits. Ethan Eddy had the base clearing double, scoring three runs to put us ahead in the 7th inning."

Game Two: The Bluejays would fall in the second game, 10-0. Brendan Buseman was the losing pitcher in game two.

"We just got hit around and they run ruled us", said Coach Girard.

The Bluejays will make the short trip down to Wichita on Monday for a two-game series with the Falcons of Friends University. The first pitch of game one will be at 1pm.
