KANSAS – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) announced their selections for the KCAC Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Monday.
Koltyn Kaniper was named as this week's KCAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.
Kaniper had an outstanding day at the Emporia State Spring Open on Friday, opening his collegiate track and field career in a massive way, throwing for a mark of 64.84m and earning an NAIA "A" qualifying standard mark. His throw also cemented his spot as an early national qualifier, and he now sits firmly in the No. 2 spot in the NAIA. Kaniper's throw of 212'9" smashed the previous Tabor College record of 199'1".
