HILLSBORO, Kan. – Saturday marks the 2026 home opener for Tabor College Softball as the team hosts Evangel. The Bluejays swept their KCAC doubleheader at McPherson on Monday and are looking to ride that momentum into the weekend.
 
LAST TIME OUT

• Swept McPherson on the road on Monday (4-2, 2-1)
• Jordan Smith earned the save in the first game and returned in the second game and earned a complete-game win, striking out six batters in the process

 
LAST TIME AGAINST THE VALOR

• Last met on April 30^th, 2025, at the KCAC Softball Tournament in Branson, Mo.
• Evangel won the game, 3-1

 
SCOUTING THE VALOR

• 18-4 on the season
• Saturday will mark Evangel's first venture into KCAC action of the 2026 campaign
• Earned wins over Dakota State (10-0, 5 innings) and Missouri Valley (6-5) in a mid-week trip to Branson on Wednesday
• Kenna Mayfield leads the team offensively, batting .436 with nine RBIs and two homers on the season
• Maddy Meierer leads the way in the circle with a team-best 1.12 ERA and 58 strikeouts through 11 games and 69 innings pitched

 
SERIES HISTORY VS EVANGEL

• Eight total meetings between the two programs, dating back to 2010
• Evangel won the first meeting in 2010, 10-0
• Tabor's largest margin of victory came with their lone win in the series in 2024, 5-2
• Evangel owns a 7-1 record in the all-time series
