BLUEJAYS LOOK TO BOUNCE BACK IN SERIES AGAINST KANSAS WESLEYAN

HILLSBORO, Kan. – The Tabor College Lady Bluejays are set to face off against the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes in a crucial conference matchup this week. The matchup, set to take place in Hillsboro, promises to be a pivotal game in the KCAC standings as both teams look to strengthen their positions in the regular season race.

In recent history, KWU has held the upper hand in this softball rivalry, winning five of the last six meetings with the Bluejays. During the KCAC Tournament last May, Tabor defeated Kansas Wesleyan 7-1 and knocked the Coyotes out of their tournament run to conclude the season.

The Bluejays enter the game looking to bounce back after two consecutive losses to Evangel last weekend. Despite the recent setbacks, they remain a strong contender in the conference with solid performances throughout the season. Leading the charge offensively is Cheyenne Washington who boasts a .435 batting average with nine home runs and 36 RBIs this season. On the mound, Marisa Carranza and Madison Nelson have both been dominant forces, proving to be a crucial asset to the Lady Bluejay lineup.

Kansas Wesleyan comes into the game looking to build momentum after a recent split with Saint Mary on Saturday. The Coyotes feature a balanced lineup led by Briannah Kutschkau, who holds a .372 batting average and has been one of the crucial contributors for Kansas Wesleyan this season. Their pitching staff, anchored by Caitlyn Collier, will look to contain the Bluejay offense and give KWU an opportunity to secure a crucial win.

Tabor enters the contest with an overall record of 15-12 while KWU enters with an overall record of 13-17. The first pitch is set for 1 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon with the second contest following soon after at 3 p.m.
