MESQUITE, Texas – Tabor College Softball has made the trip down to Mesquite, Texas for their 2025 season opener at the Southern Collegiate Sports NAIA Invitational. This tournament is set for Feb. 6-9, with games beginning on Thursday afternoon and concluding on Sunday afternoon.
The Lady Bluejays are set to face Southwestern Christian University, Mid-America Christian University, Oklahoma City University, and University of British Columbia during an action-packed weekend of college softball.
Other teams participating include Nelson University, Mid-America Christian University, Cottey College, University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, Missouri Baptist University, Oklahoma Wesleyan University, and Bethany College. Games will take place at Mesquite Girls Softball Complex throughout the weekend.
Day one begins for the Bluejays with a game against Southwestern Christian University at 11 a.m. Southwestern Christian finished their 2024 season with an overall record of 30-27, claiming Runner-Up at the NCCAA National Tournament. Following game one, Tabor will face Mid-America Christian University at 4 p.m. MACU finished with a 37-17 last year and was selected to participate in the 2024 NAIA tournament.
Day two holds just one matchup for the Bluejays, where they will face the Stars of Oklahoma City University. OCU went 54-5 last season, holding a perfect record of 28-0 when playing at home. The Stars finished as the regular season Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Champions and made their 35
th appearance in the NAIA World Series.
Day three concludes the tournament with a double-header against the University of British Columbia. The Thunderbirds completed last season with a 26-22 record and posted the most wins in program history.
The Southern Collegiate Sports NAIA Invitational promises to be a thrilling start to the 2025 season for Tabor College Softball. With a challenging lineup of opponents from powerhouse programs, the Lady Bluejays will have an opportunity to test their skills against some of the best in the NAIA.
