COLUMBIA, Mo. – Following a split series against University of Texas at Dallas on Sunday, the Lady Bluejays will travel to Stephens College this Saturday to compete in a double-header against the Stars.
Tabor's last outing against UTD showed great promise for the rest of this season. The Lady Bluejays showed resilience and started strong with key hits, including a home run by
Cheyenne Washington and a triple from
Darcy Gillen. Despite falling short in the first game, Tabor's pitchers,
Leilani Rios and
Marisa Carranza, limited UTD's offense.
In the second game, the Bluejays capitalized early, scoring four runs in the first inning, including a two-run single from
Dessa Zavala.
Madison Nelson pitched a complete game, leading Tabor to a 6-3 victory, showcasing their strong all-around performance and ability to bounce back.
Stephens College finished last year's season with an overall record of 16-30 after being eliminated in the second round of the American Midwest Conference Tournament. The Stars opened their season with a double-header loss to Lincoln University of Missouri earlier this week. Tabor enters the contest with an overall record of 3-5 on the season.
