MCPHERSON, Kan. – Following Tabor's two dominant wins last week against Southwestern and Oklahoma Wesleyan, the Lady Bluejays are preparing to make the short trip to their Highway 56 rival, the McPherson Bulldogs, on Wednesday evening.
This will be the Bluejays' second matchup against the Bulldogs this season. The previous contest occurred on Dec. 4, 2024, with the Bluejays securing a dominant 86-60 win over McPherson on their home court. During that game, the McPherson native,
Kassidy Beam, totaled 18 points, shooting 5-9 from the field and 5-7 from beyond the arc.
Alyvia Owens also put on a show, totaling 16 points and shooting 6-6 from the free throw line.
Kloe Bowin and
Ivy Preusser also helped fuel the Lady Jays to their assertive win, securing a combined 19 points and 11 rebounds between the two of them.
McPherson is coming off a challenging defeat against Bethel College on Saturday, falling 69-52 to the Threshers. This loss put the Lady Bulldogs at an overall record of 0-20 this season and a 0-14 record in KCAC play. Tabor comes off a 30-point win against OKWU on Saturday and aims to continue the climb to the top of the conference.
Throughout history, Tabor Women's Basketball has secured an overall record of 46-17 against the Lady Bulldogs. The Bluejays hold a four-game win streak over McPherson, dating back to 2022. On the road, Tabor has only lost to McPherson six times, while they record only two losses to the Bulldogs on their home court. Last year's January matchup resulted in a 78-33 win against the Red and Black, outscoring them by 45 points.
The Lady Bluejays are back in action tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 29
th. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at the Sport Center in McPherson, Kan. The game will be broadcast live on the KCAC Network.
