HILLSBORO, Kan. – The Baker Wildcats come to town Tuesday evening for the second half of the home-and-home series with the Lady Bluejays.
Background
The series between Tabor and Baker dates to the 1976 season, as the two programs met for the first time under the direction of then-Head Coach Karen Wallace. The Wildcats took the first match against the Bluejays, 2-1. Baker holds a slight 9-7 advantage over TC and the Lady Bluejays look to pull closer with a win.
TC holds the longest win-streak in the series, spanning from the teams' second meeting of the 1991 season and including all three meetings during the 1993 season.
Most recently, the Bluejays fell in three sets in Baldwin City back on August 27
th.
Outlook
Sammie Saunders continues to lead Tabor in several major statistical categories: Kills (96), Kills Per Set (2.82), Total Attacks (314), Total Attacks Per Set (9.24), Points (112.5), and Points Per Set (3.3).
Mia Maly still leads the team in Assists, totaling 135 so far this season.
Last time the programs met back in late August, Saunders (10), Maly (4), and
Liana McGonigle (4) led the way in the kill department for TC, while the Wildcats' Kaitlyn Stout (11), Kierra Hipple (9), and Aby Widhalm (7) led BU in kills.
Tuesday's match is sure to provide plenty of excitement as Bluejay Nation looks to bring the same energy from Friday's match back to Tabor College Gymnasium.
