HILLSBORO, Kan. - The KCAC announced the individual and team recipients of the Champions of Character awards. The women's team won the Team of Character award and junior distance runner Aubrey Bahner was Tabor's individual winner of the Champion of Character.
"Our women's T&F is a wonderful example of what the COC program tries to promote. (Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership). They truly respect the sport of T&F, their teammates, and their competitors. They are responsible, not only in training but away from the track as well when it comes to academics and social areas of life. They are a group of women truly deserving of recognition for their strong, positive character!" Head Coach David Kroeker said.
"Aubrey quietly exhibits the 5 Core Values of the NAIA COC program (Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership) on a daily basis. Her personal example of preparation, effort, and competitiveness has really blossomed this year," Kroeker said.
Up next, Bahner and the Bluejays will compete at the NAIA Indoor National Championships from Thursday, Feb. 29 through Saturday, March 2 in Brookings, S.D. Outdoor track and field season is scheduled to start Friday, March 15 at the St. Mary's Distance Carnival, a distance-only event in Leavenworth, Kan.
