TOPEKA, Kan. – Tabor College Indoor Track and Field kicked off the 2025-26 season on Saturday as they traveled to Topeka to compete at the Washburn Alumni Invite, opening up a new chapter as Head Coach,
Aaron Yoder led the team into action for the first time.
"This was a great competition for us to take a larger squad to an early bird meet before Christmas break", remarked Yoder. "We had a little over half of our team competing this weekend, but it definitely shows our depth right out the gate. We actually had one or multiple athletes compete in every single event on both the men's and women's sides. This was the biggest indoor meet that Washburn has hosted in December in over five years and we were very excited to get everyone in that wanted to compete."
Autumn Hickok took second in the women's 800m race, landing a personal best time of 2:27.
Adrienne Selzer and
Julianna Maxfield followed up that performance with Selzer taking third place in the women's 5000m race and Maxfield taking fourth place in the women's 1000m race.
Xavier Lee capped off a day of top five finishes with a fifth-place finish in the men's high jump.
11 Bluejay athletes took home lifetime bests over the weekend, helping the team get the season started on the right foot.
