Box Score SEWARD, Neb. Coming back from a tough loss is never easy, but that is exactly what the Tabor Bluejays did at Concordia University on Saturday night, with Head Coach Ian Thomson describing the 1-0 victory as a great performance.
First half play was mainly controlled by Concordia but a spectacular volley from forward Sydney Takash finally broke the deadlock in the 16th minute, assisted by midfielder Marie Seeger. "We played well without controlling much of the ball," Thomson said.
The second half brought much of the same from Concordia, but the Tabor defense remained resolute, the Bluejays faced 15 shots over the 90 minutes. Midfielders Kylie Bush and Kyler Dunham had particularly strong displays on defense along with goalkeeper Hayley Bench's six saves, who all helped in allowing the Bluejays to get their first shutout of the season.
Tabor will be on the road again on Wednesday, September 6th at 5:30 pm, as they take on the Tigers of Central Christian College.
Tabor College is a Christ-centered institution located in Hillsboro, Kansas. The Bluejays are members of the NAIA and compete in the KCAC.
