BARTLESVILLE, Okla. With a great past few games, the Lady Bluejays were on a 3-game winning streak. They went to Oklahoma Wesleyan University with high hopes of battling to keep the wins going.
Head Coach Casey Quiggle said, "We knew that OKWU was going to be a challenge and that we needed to focus on our strengths and play our game. We played hard and tried some different line-ups. Our attitude stayed positive but in the end, we just didn't match up well against their high-powered offense."
In set one, the Bluejays were climbing back into the match from the deficit the Eagles created but couldn't find their rhythm, losing 16-25. The ladies rallied with Oklahoma Wesleyan in set two and tried to stay locked in however it wasn't enough to pull out a win, losing 15-25. Playing a closer third set, Tabor stayed in it keeping the Eagles close but just falling short, 18-25.
"These young women have played with a lot of grit and heart throughout the season, and we've seen a good turnaround from last season. We're playing at a high level and focused on the final two regular season games against McPherson and Friends," Quiggle said.
The Bluejays conference record is now 5-6 and overall 13-11. The ladies' next game will be on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. in McPherson, Kansas.
Tabor College is a Christ-centered institution located in Hillsboro, Kansas. The Bluejays are members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and compete in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC).
