Box Score York, Neb. The Bluejays traveled to York to continue their good recent run of form. A closely battled game in tough conditions meant that the spoils were shared in Nebraska as the game finished in a 1-1 tie.
The first half was for the most part an even affair as both teams looked to break each other down. It would be the Bluejays that would draw first blood. It was the sophomore Alia Hirschi who found the back of the net in the 34th minute off a Raegan King assist. The Panthers would respond quickly with a goal of their own in the 37th minute. The score would hold until the half making the score 1-1.
The second half brought another close affair, with the Bluejays just edging the offensive statistics with seven shots in the half. The tough conditions meant it was hard for any team to find a proper foothold in the game. As a result, the 1-1 scoreline would hold until the final whistle.
"The York game was an interesting result, traveling up there with a wet, cold and hard field. Definitely a home field advantage for York and they know how to capitalize on it. I was proud of the girls for being able to battle. The biggest thing for us is being able to capitalize on our opportunities. We have a big game coming up on Saturday and then the tournament after so hopefully we can get it right by then," Head Coach Ian Thomson said after the game.
The Bluejays will next play at home against Oklahoma Wesleyan on Saturday, Oct. 28, with kickoff set for 5 p.m.
Tabor College is a Christ-centered institution located in Hillsboro, Kansas. The Bluejays are members of the NAIA and compete in the KCAC.
