KANSAS – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) football coaches released their 2026 KCAC Football Preseason All-Conference team on Monday.
Senior defensive lineman
Darriene Gibbs was named as an All-KCAC Kessinger Division Preseason selection.
Gibbs has been a staple in the Bluejay defense over the past three seasons, posting a 2025 stat line of 24 solo tackles, 29 total tackles, 2.6 tackles/per game, 5.5 sacks for a total of 25 yards, and 11.5 tackles-for-loss for a total of 39 yards. He also recorded one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries for -2 yards, as well as two pass breakups.
The McPherson, Kan. native looks to make a big impact in his final season in the blue and gold, beginning with the season opener on August 29
th, as Gibbs and the Bluejays take on rival Sterling at Joel H. Wiens Stadium.
