WICHITA, Kan. – Tabor College Track and Field returned to action on Friday as they made the short trip down to Wichita to compete in the Shocker Open, hosted by Wichita State. The meet marked the first meet held at the newly renovated University Stadium on the WSU campus.
The Bluejays competed well in a loaded field of NCAA DI, DII, DIII, NAIA, and Junior College programs. Highlighting the day were three personal bests, two event finalists, five NAIA national qualifying marks, and
Koltyn Kaniper once again making his presence felt by setting yet another Tabor College and KCAC record.
Kaniper's five national qualifying marks are no surprise to those who have followed the season so far, but the freshman phenom also punched his ticket to the U20 World Championships in August, winning the event title and finishing with a throw that separated him and the second place finisher by almost 12 meters.
