KANSAS – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) announced their selections for the KCAC Women's Basketball Players of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Tayton Smith was named KCAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for her performance this past Saturday.
Smith had an outstanding return to the floor after Christmas break, pouring in a career-high 32 points in the Bluejays' thrilling overtime victory over Kansas Wesleyan, shooting 81.3% (13-16) from the field. In addition to her scoring numbers, she hauled in four offensive rebounds and dished out one assist.
This honor marks the second straight week Smith has been selected for a KCAC Women's Basketball weekly award, as she was named KCAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week during the last week that awards were selected before Christmas break (Dec. 8
th).
Smith and the Lady Bluejays are back in action on Wednesday, as they play host to Bethany. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00pm.
