HILLSBORO, Kan. – Tabor College Director of Athletics Jeff Brewer has announced that Rafa Marins has resigned from his role as Head Men's Soccer Coach.
In his return to Tabor, Marins served as Associate Head Coach during the 2024 season and was named Head Coach following the conclusion of that season. He engineered an incredible turnaround during the 2025 campaign, guiding his club to an 8-8-3 overall record, and a 6-5-2 record in the KCAC, which was good for a 6
th place finish in the conference. Not only did he lead the turnaround in terms of wins, but he also guided the Bluejay men back to the KCAC Men's Soccer Tournament for the first time since the 2023 season.
Coach Marins coached and mentored two KCAC Honorable Mention All-Conference selections during the 2025 campaign in
Cooper Taylor and
Pol Fernandez, as well as 11 KCAC and NAIA Scholar Athletes.
"My time at Tabor College has been incredibly meaningful to me", remarked Marins. "I have experienced tremendous professional, personal, and spiritual growth since I first arrived on campus. At this moment, I feel called to explore different professional opportunities. I had the privilege to work with great student-athletes and colleagues. Tabor will always be a special place to me, and I look forward to cheering on the Men's Soccer program from the stands."
"It has been a true blessing to have Coach Marins here at Tabor", reflected Brewer. "He has done a fantastic job leading our Men's Soccer Program and will always be a part of the Tabor community. We wish him and his family only the best as he moves forward."
Dr. David Janzen, President of Tabor College had this to say, "As a Tabor alum stepping in to lead our Men's Soccer program, Rafael has been aligned with our mission as he has invested in our young men. We wish him all God's best in the next season of his life."
Tabor College is grateful to Coach Marins for his contributions to student-athletes both on and off the field.
