KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Following a big win in the opening game of the series, the Bluejays looked to capitalize on their offensive efforts in the bottom half of the doubleheader. Despite their best efforts, Tabor ultimately could not make a comeback.
Game Two: L, 4-2
Avila got things started with a bang as Zach Dillman put the Eagles on the board first with a huge two-run homer.
The Bluejays provided their answer in the top of the 3
rd as
Garryn Plummer smashed his own two-run bomb over the outfield fence, knotting things up at 2-2.
Jack Virden hit the Eagles' second two-run homer of the day, putting them in the lead and ultimately providing the winning runs.
Evan Williams was charged with the loss on the mound, throwing 91 pitches through six innings and sitting down an impressive eight batters.
Garryn Plummer provided the only offensive for the Bluejays, recording two RBIs in the game.
With the loss, the Bluejays drop to 22-13 on the season and 14-9 in conference play.
Bluejay Baseball is back in action Monday afternoon as they look to clinch a series win over Avila. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00pm.
