HILLSBORO, Kan. – Friday and Saturday brought a whirlwind of emotions and feelings, as the weekend marked the 2025 edition of Tabor College Baseball's annual Senior Day festivities. 24 seniors were recognized before the final game of the weekend on Saturday. The Bluejays welcomed Evangel University to Hillsboro for the final games of the regular season. Tabor entered the weekend searching for another series sweep after securing the sweep over Friends on Wednesday.
Game 1: W, 8-2
The Bluejays got off to an early start in the first game, taking a 4-0 lead through three full innings played.
Juan Rosa Gonzalez put Tabor on the board first with a solo homer in the bottom of the 2
nd.
Mikey Acosta extended the lead with a two-RBI single to Evangel's shortstop, 3-0.
Jared Mack added a fourth run in the bottom of the 3
rd, inking his name in the scorebook with an RBI single to center. Four additional Bluejay runs came across the plate in the final innings, giving the team a big 8-2 victory to open up the season series between the two programs.
Wyatt Bauer earned the win on the mound for Tabor, while
Jared Mack led the way on offense with three RBIs.
Game 2: W, 10-8
A back and forth, and albeit intense game provided an intriguing second game of the series. The Bluejays rolled to victory as
Juan Rosa Gonzalez led the way offensively with four RBIs.
Ethan Crawford made the most of an unexpected situation by recording two RBIs of his own in the win.
Evan Williams earned the win on the mound, bringing his record to 8-5 on the season.
Game 3: W, 11-1
The final game of the series between the two teams saw the Bluejays take care of business in solid fashion.
Ethan Crawford led the team with three RBIs, but his biggest moment of the day came in the bottom of the 8
th inning, as the freshman launched his first career varsity bomb over the left field fence, giving Tabor the walk off victory.
Payton Tinkler earned the win, his first of the season.
TC heads to Joplin, Mo. for the KCAC Baseball Championships this week and will take on York University in the first-round matchup.
