OFFENSIVE COMMITTEE HELPS BLUEJAYS ROLL OVER SPIRES

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – Despite Tuesday afternoon's blustery weather, the Bluejays didn't miss a beat as they took down the University of Saint Mary in the first game of the mid-week series between the two programs. Tabor needed the win after coming off a rough weekend series against Ottawa University.

Game One: W, 14-4

Micah Dvorak put the Bluejays on the scoreboard first with an RBI single, sending Marcelo Aguirre in to score. Juan Rosa Gonzalez helped continue the scoring in the top of the 3rd inning with a homer smashed to left field, also scoring Cody Moore.

Saint Mary set up their own scoring run in the bottom of the 3rd due to an error, an RBI single to right center, and a walk with the bases loaded to take the lead.

Tabor battled back and did the rest of the scoring, sending 11 more runs across the plate. Garryn Plummer reached the bases on a fielder's choice to bring one run in in the 4th, Aguirre hit an RBI double to right center, and Moore hit an RBI double to left center to close out the inning, giving the Bluejays a 6-4 advantage.

In the top of the 5th inning, Cole Schieffer added another TC run with an RBI single to left field, followed by an RBI double down the right field line by Isaiah Cohens. Jared Mack added the Bluejays' 10th run of the day in the top of the 6th with an RBI single to right center. Dvorak and Mack accounted for three more runs in the top of the 7th, while Aidan Martinez etched his name in the scorebook with an RBI single to center field.

The Spires had no answer in the bottom of the 7th, sending Tabor home with a huge run-rule victory.

Zachary Garner earned his second win of the season on the mound for the Bluejays.

Micah Dvorak led the team on offense with three RBIs, while Juan Rosa Gonzalez hit the only homer of the afternoon.

With the win, the Bluejays improve to 21-12 overall and 13-8 in KCAC play.
Bluejay Baseball returns to action on Friday as they head back to the Kansas City area for a weekend conference series with Avila University. The games will be broadcast live on the KCAC Network and live stats will also be available.
