YORK, Neb. – After a disappointing loss to end the day on Saturday, the Bluejays looked to bounce back in the final game of the series with York on Sunday afternoon.
Game Three: L, 5-3
For the third game in a row, the Bluejays jumped on the scoreboard first. This time it would be courtesy of a monster three-run homer by
Garryn Plummer in the top of the 3
rd. Plummer's bomb also scored
Isaiah Cohens and
Mikey Acosta.
The three-run lead ended up being short lived, as the Panthers answered with one run in the bottom of the 3
rd inning and tied the game up in the bottom, of the 5
th with a two-run homer of their own.
York scored two additional runs in the 6
th inning to close out scoring and ultimately take the series.
Evan Williams was charged with the loss after throwing 5.2 innings and 104 pitches, striking out an impressive 13 batters.
Brayden Berens and
Zachary Garner made relief appearances in the loss.
Garryn Plummer's three RBIs led the Bluejays on the offensive front.
Mikey Acosta also recorded one hit on the afternoon.
With the loss, the Bluejays fall to 9-7 overall and 4-4 in KCAC play.
Tabor Baseball returns to action on Saturday as they open up their home slate with a three-game conference series against Bethany College.
