BLUEJAYS DROP HEARTBREAKER IN EXTRAS, DRAW EVEN IN SERIES WITH YORK

YORK, Neb. – Riding the high of an impressive 7-0 victory in the opening game of the series between the Bluejays and York University, Tabor Baseball seemed to have plenty of momentum to feed off of in the second game of the series.

Game Two: L, 7-6

On the scoring front, both teams got off to a faster start than the game before with the first runs going on the scoreboard in the 3rd inning for both squads. Garryn Plummer started things off with a bang, smashing a three-run homer over the left field fence, sending Cody Moore and Marcelo Aguirre in to score as well. Mikey Acosta followed that up with a double down the right field line, sending both Cole Schieffer and Jared Mack home.

York got in on the scoring fun in the bottom of the 3rd, scoring three runs to cut Tabor's lead to two, 5-3.

The Panthers added two more runs to tie the game at 5-5, scoring runs in the 4th and 5th innings.

Aidan Martinez provided an extra spark for TC in the top of the 8th with a ground-rule double, scoring Isaiah Cohens and sending Aguirre to third.

The bottom of the 8th saw the Panthers pull ahead and ultimately clinch the win, 7-6.

Payton Tinkler got the start on the mound for Tabor, throwing 89 pitches and three chairs, but it was Sergio Gutierrez who was charged with the loss after throwing the final 2.2 innings.
Garryn Plummer led the team on offense with three RBIs, while Marcelo Aguirre found himself on base three times by way of walks.

With the loss, the Bluejays drop to 9-6 on the season and 4-3 in KCAC play.
