HILLSBORO, Kan. – The Bluejays retuned to Tabor College Gymnasium Saturday evening as they played host to rival Sterling College. After a disappointing result on the road at McPherson on Wednesday, the Tabor men looked to change their fortune.
Sterling came out of the gate fast as the Bluejays saw themselves in an 11-0 hole to start things off. After a slow start to the game, Tabor found themselves down at the halftime break, 46-28.
The Bluejays continued to fight in the second half, trying to chip away at their deficit. Despite their strong efforts, the Bluejays were unable to make a comeback in time, falling by a score of 94-71.
Kalep Crane led the team in scoring with 24 points, while
Jackson Baer and
Kam Kaniper each finished with 12 points to round out the team in double figures. Crane and Kaniper also lead the team on the glass with seven boards apiece.
The Tabor men head south to Wichita to take on Friends University on Wednesday evening. Tip-off is scheduled for 8pm.
