McPHERSON, Kan. – The Bluejays returned to the floor Wednesday evening as they made the short trip to face Highway 56 rival McPherson College in a bid to notch a season sweep against the Bulldogs. Tabor entered the game after falling to Oklahoma Wesleyan in a hard-fought battle in Hillsboro on Wednesday, while McPherson entered the contest hoping to bounce back from a loss at Bethel.
Tabor got off to a solid start, taking an early lead and keeping pace with the Bulldogs. MC took the lead with just over 11 minutes left in the first half and never looked back. At the halftime break, Tabor found themselves down by 26, 49-23.
After the break, the Bluejays continued to fight and try to keep the Bulldogs at bay as best as they could, keeping McPherson from pushing the lead out any farther until the 13-minute mark. When all was said and done, the Bluejays fell by a score of 99-60.
Kalep Crane led the Bluejays with 16 points, while
Zach Hiebert followed with 14.
Creighton Kukula flirted with double figures, scoring eight points in his first career start. Crane and Hiebert led the team on the glass with six boards apiece.
Kam Kaniper led the team in blocks with three.
The Bluejays look to snap their skid on Saturday evening as they host Sterling College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7pm.
