HILLSBORO, Kan. – Tabor Men's Basketball was poised and ready for action Wednesday evening as they hosted longtime rival Bethel College. The series has been played since the 1948 campaign, making it one of the Bluejays' oldest rivalry series.
The Bluejays kept pace with the Threshers through the first half, creating an entertaining and back-and-forth environment. Every time it looked like Bethel was set to make a run, the Bluejays answered and kept chipping away. Bethel held a 10-point lead at the halftime break, 40-30.
The second half proved to be a different story, as an injury-plagued TC squad found it hard to keep up with the deep Bethel squad, falling 81-47.
Kalep Crane finished with 20 points to lead the team in scoring, while
Jackson Baer also finished in double-figures with 10 points.
Crane once again led Tabor on the glass and on the defensive, pulling down six boards and grabbing three steals.
TC returns to action on Saturday as they head east to Leavenworth to take on the Spires of the University of Saint Mary at 7pm.
