LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – Bluejay Men's Basketball made the trip to Leavenworth to face the University of Saint Mary Spires on Saturday.
Kam Kaniper got things going for both sides, draining a three less than a minute into the contest. Kaniper made good from beyond the arc two minutes later to put the Bluejays ahead by four. The Spires started to build a lead halfway into the first half, extending the lead to 21 at the halftime break, 49-28.
The second half saw Saint Mary hit shot after shot, while the Bluejays struggled. Despite the large deficit, Tabor continued to fight throughout the remainder of the game. Saint Mary went on to win, 99-60.
Kalep Crane led Tabor in scoring with 20, while
Zach Hiebert also finished in double figures with 10.
Kam Kaniper flirted with double figures, finishing with nine points in the contest.
Langston Taylor led the team with seven boards, while Kaniper led with four blocks, and
Kreeland Avery led with two steals.
The Bluejay men hit the road again on Wednesday as they travel to Winfield to take on the Southwestern College Moundbuilders in an 8pm tip.
