LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – Bluejay Track & Field was back in action last week at the 2024 KCAC Men's & Women's Track & Field Championships in Leavenworth, hosted by the University of Saint Mary.
Sonya Zimmerman and
Brooke Wiebe secured top five finishes in the women's 800m race with Zimmerman taking fourth with a time of 2:18.76 and Wiebe snagging fifth with a time of 2:19.29.
Hannah Grover notched a fifth-place finish in the women's 1500m race, running a time of 4:48.10.
Aubrey Bahner provided yet another top five finish for the Lady Bluejays, taking fifth in the women's 500m race, recording a time of 18:19.01. Bahner continued to show out for Tabor as solidified her place as KCAC Champion in the women's 10,000m race with a time of 37:06.26, punching her ticket to the 2024 NAIA National Championships and cementing her place in the KCAC record books with the new meet record. Wiebe broke Tabor's previous school record in the 3000m steeplechase, running yet another NAIA "A" Standard in the event with a time of 10:59.31 and a third-place finish.
The Bluejay women's 4x800m relay team recorded another NAIA "A" Standard as well, this time with a slightly different roster:
Danielle Allison, Zimmerman, Grover, and
Julianna Maxfield. The group finished second in the event with a time of 9:22.56, almost two weeks after earning an NAIA National Championships qualifying mark at the Kansas Relays.
Jordyn Lowrie has continued to improve since her debut earlier this season and made a breakthrough with a KCAC Championship mark of 1.65m in the women's high jump, punching her ticket to the NAIA National Championships.
D'myia Cox grabbed another top five finish, snagging fifth place in the women's long jump with a leap of 5.37m. Cox finished in the top five yet again, this time in the triple jump, earning fifth place with a mark of 10.79m.
On the men's side,
Dillon Callaway earned the title of KCAC Champion in the men's 800m race for the second straight year with a time of 1:51.88m, recording an NAIA "A" Standard and punching his ticket to the NAIA National Championships later this month.
Darren Klukas broke the previous school record in the men's 1500m race, taking fourth in the event with a time of 3:57.18. Two Bluejays finished in the top five in the men's 5000m race in Klukas and
Ryan Stade. Stade notched a second-place finish, running a time of 14:48.00, while Klukas came in fifth place, running a time of 15:12.20.
Stade earned himself another ticket to the NAIA National Championships with a second-place finish and a time of 30:58.22 in the men's 10,000m race. The Bluejays took a fourth-place finish in the men's 4x100m relay with the team of
Jordy Dolloff,
Ali Cannon,
Taegen Gallagher, and
Brandon Geyer, crossing the finish with a time of 42.42 seconds.
Vance Shewey earned the title of KCAC Champion in the men's high jump with a mark of 2.14m, completing the Bluejays' sweep of the event and earning another NAIA "A" Standard.
Caleb Wehrman took fourth in the men's pole vault with a mark of 3.95m

Rylan Hincher were very pleased with their team's performance. "Great KCAC meet from our crew with personal bests from so many of them", said Hincher. "Really excited about the crew we have continuing on to the national meet here in a couple of weeks!"

th as they travel to Marion, Ind. for the NAIA National Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.
