WICHITA, Kan. - The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) has named this week's Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, and the honor goes to senior standout
Sonya Zimmerman.
Zimmerman earned the recognition following a stellar performance at the Coyote Classic over the weekend. She dominated the track on Friday evening, taking first place in the women's 800-meter race. Her winning time came within just 0.05 seconds of breaking the school record—a testament to her speed and determination.
With her eyes set on continued success, Zimmerman is now preparing for the upcoming Baker Classic this weekend.
