BLUEJAYS FORCE GAME 7 AGAINST NO. 1 HOPE INTERNATIONAL

FAYETTE, Mo. — It was a big day for the Bluejays as they took on No. 2 Central Methodist University in an elimination game and No. 1 Hope International University in the championship game. The Jays found success against CMU running the score up to 15 and that transferred over to the second game of the day by beating the HIU Royals. 

GAME THREE- Bluejays 15 Eagles 4

It was all Bluejays until the 9th inning when Central Methodist finally put runs on the board. 

In the 2nd inning, Juan Rosa-Gonzalez hit a solo home run to get the first run. Mikey Acosta kept it going with a double and moved to third on a wild pitch. Isaiah Cohens walked and then stole to get runners in scoring position. Tyler Mata Lloyd hit an RBI to score Acosta, 2-0.

The Bluejays scored four in the 4th. Cohens singled and stole second. Mata Lloyd singled to score Cohens. Trotter Boston got in on the action with a 2-run bomb over the left field wall. Jackie Jimenez added another run with a solo home run, 6-0.

Boston singled in the 6th inning and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Cody Moore then hit a 2-run homerun, 8-0.

A big 7th inning for the Bluejays as they scored seven to secure the lead, 15-0.

The Eagles picked it up in the 9th but was a little too late, 15-4. 

The Bluejays secured a victory to move on to the championship game against Hope International University. 

GAME FOUR- Bluejays 12 Royals 8

Hope International was first on the board in the 1st inning, 0-1.

The Jays came back in the 2nd with Cody Moore being walked, Mikey Acosta singled, and Brady Cardozo singled to score Moore, 1-1.

The Royals came back with four to get back on top, 1-5.

Trotter Boston started the 3rd with a solo home run. Jackie Jimenez kept it going with a double, Moore got on with a fielder's choice. Garryn Plummer got going with a 2-run home, 4-5.

HIU scored two to get ahead of the Bluejays, 4-7.

The Bluejays came back in the 5th with a 3-run homerun hit by Garryn Plummer, his second of the game, 7-7.

Royals added another a double and a few hits, 7-8.

It was scoreless up to the 8th inning when Tyler Mata Lloyd started the inning with a single to left and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Moore hit a single to score Mata Lloyd. Plummer got on with a single, Juan Rosa-Gonzalez singled to score pinch runner Wyatt Drouhard. Acosta singled to score Plummer, 10-8.

To secure the win the Bluejays added two to the score, 12-8.

The Bluejays forced the extra game needed to move on to the championship against the No. 1-seeded Hope International. It will be played at 10 a.m. in Fayette, Mo. at Estes Field on May 16th. 

The winner punches their ticket to the NAIA World Series.
