FAYETTE, Mo. — The Bluejays made it to the championship game of the NAIA Tournament against No. 1 seed Hope International University. After a fight to get there, the Jays unfortunately fell 9-3.
Both teams had runners on base in the first two innings but no one could get the runs across until the 3rd inning when Hope International got two on the board, 0-2.
A five-run 4th inning gave HIU a lead that the Bluejays needed to get out of desperately, 0-7.
Cody Moore hit a home run to try to give the Jays a spark in the bottom of the 4th, 1-7.
The Royals hit a 2-run bomb in the 6th to make it 1-9.
Another Moore home run added one more to the Bluejays score, 2-9.
The last home run of the day was in the 7th inning by Brady Cardozo, 3-9.
The Bluejays had a great season with an overall record of 38-16 and a KCAC record of 28-8.
