FAYETTE, Mo. — The Bluejays were back for their second game of the NAIA tournament. In order to advance and stay in the tournament, the Jays needed to win against the University of Northwestern Ohio.
The Bluejays got started in the 7th and turned the jets on by the 9th to hold on to their season, 6-5.
Northwestern Ohio was on the board in the 2nd inning with a solo home run, 0-1. It was scoreless until UNOH added another in the 7th, 0-2.
Finally, the Bluejays got going when Cody Moore reached on an error made by the shortstop. Garryn Plummer singled to left and moved over pinch runner Xander Roberts. Trotter Boston singled to right scoring Roberts. Isaiah Cohens doubled to score Boston, to tie up the game 2-2.
The Racers weren't going down without a fight and had the Bluejays by three runs, 5-2.
Plummer started the rally that was much needed by hitting a double off the top of the left field wall. Cohens walked and Tyler Mata Lloyd singled to move the runners and make it bases-loaded.
