BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Saturday's threat of weather didn't stop the Tabor College Track and Field team from getting in one last day of regular season competition in before the KCAC Championships. The Bluejays traveled just outside the Kansas City area to Baldwin City for the Zach Kindler Wildcat Open, hosted by Baker University.
The Bluejays brought a small group of athletes to Baker to compete Saturday.
Jordyn Lowrie tied for third in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.55m, followed by a sixth-place finish in the women's long jump from D'myia Cox, who had a final leap of 5.45m, a new personal record.
Taegen Gallagher set a new personal record in the men's 400m race, finishing fourth with a time of 50.81.
The highlight of the meet came in the men's high jump.
Vance Shewey took first with a mark of 2.12m, which was good enough to earn him an NAIA "A" Standard distinction.
The Bluejays will head to Leavenworth this coming Thursday to compete in the KCAC Track & Field Championships, hosted by the University of Saint Mary. More information on the meet will be released by the Tabor College Sports Information Department.
