SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Bluejays went to Missouri to take on Evangel University. The Jays won the series but were more in a battle with the rainy weather.
GAME ONE- Bluejays 20 Valor 0
Tyler Mata Lloyd started the game with a single to right field, Jackie Jimenez reached on a fielder's choice. Marcelo Aguirre walked, Juan Rosa-Gonzalez singled to score pinch-runner Mikey Acosta. Miguel Ramos III singled to score Aguirre, Micah Dvorak reached on a throwing error and scored Rosa-Gonzalez. Cody Moore walked, Garryn Plummer reached on a fielder's choice and Ramos III scored. The Bluejays wrapped back up to the top of the lineup to keep the 1st inning going. Mata Lloyd singled to move the runners and score Dvorak. Mikey Acosta reached first on an error by the second baseman, Moore and Plummer both scored. Aguirre doubled to score Mata Lloyd and Acosta to give the Bluejays a 9-0 lead.
The Bluejays score three runs in the 3rd and one in the 4th, 13-0.
The Jays scored seven in the 7th inning. A double by Acosta started the inning and moved to third on a wild pitch. Aguirre walked, and Rosa-Gonzalez hit a sac fly to score Acosta. Dvorak singled, and Moore singled to score pinch-runner Isaiah Cohens. Plummer singled to score Dvorak. Sebastian Sarabia walked, Mata Lloyd walked, and Moore scored. Brady Cardozo walked and pinch-runner Xander Roberts scored. Cohens singled, to score Trotter Boston and Mata Lloyd, and Aidan Martinez walked, 20-0.
GAME TWO- Bluejays 0 Valor 3
Evangel scored one in the 1st inning to get on the board but the Bluejays couldn't figure it out and didn't score, 0-1.
In the 4th inning, the Valor's scored two off a double to left field, 0-3.
GAME THREE- Bluejays 4 Valor 3
A lead-off walk for Tyler Mata Lloyd started the game. He then stole second to get into scoring position. Juan Rosa-Gonzalez singled and scored Mata Lloyd, 1-0.
The Valor's scored one in the bottom of the 1st, 1-1.
Bluejays scored one in the 2nd with a Cody Moore double. Mikey Acosta reached on an error by the second baseman and scored Moore, 2-1.
Evangel also scored off a double to keep the score even, 2-2.
In the top of the 5th, Acosta singled and Mata Lloyd put down a sac bunt to move Acosta to second. Moving to third on a wild pitch and scoring off a Marcelo Aguirre single, 3-2.
A home run for the Valor scored one in the 8th, 3-3.
Finally, the Jays secured the win by scoring one in the 9th, 4-3.
The Bluejays move on to the KCAC Conference tournament and take on Avila University in Great Bend, Kansas. They will play on Wednesday, May 1st at 12:15 p.m.
