HILLSBORO, Kan. — The Bluejays were back home to take on the University of Saint Mary Spires. They won game one of their three-game series.
GAME ONE- Bluejays 13 Spires 9
Marcelo Aguirre got the win on the mound.
Tyler Mata Lloyd started off the 1st inning with a single to right field, followed by a single from Micah Dvorak, and a Cody Moore home run, 3-0.
Saint Mary scored one in the 2nd, 3-1.
Garryn Plummer led off the 2nd with a home run, 4-1.
Trotter Boston singled in the 4th inning, Plummer singled, and Mikey Acosta hit a 3-run home run, 7-1.
In the 5th inning, the Bluejays scored four runs. Miguel Ramos III singled, Jackie Jimenez doubled, Boston doubled, and pinch runner Isaiah Cohens scored. Plummer hit an RBI to score Jimenez. Boston advanced to third on a wild pitch and Acosta reached first on a dropped third strike. Mata Lloyd hit a double and Moore reached on an error to third and Acosta scored, 11-1.
The Spires scored three runs in the 7th and three runs in the 8th inning, 11-7.
The Bluejays scored two more runs in the bottom of the 8th, 13-7.
In the 9th, Saint Mary added two runs, 13-9.
The Bluejays next game will be at home in Hillsboro, Kansas to take on Avila University at noon on Saturday, April 6th.
