SALINA, Kan. — The Bluejays were on an 11-game winning streak before playing Kansas Wesleyan University. After the weekend in Salina, the Jays dropped the series to the Coyotes.
GAME ONE- Bluejays 7 Coyotes 27
The 1st inning for the Jays started great. Tyler Mata Lloyd was walked and Jackie Jimenez hit a bomb to left center to score the first runs of the game, 2-0.
The Coyotes answered back with a grand slam and a solo home run, 2-5. In the next couple innings, KWU scored a total of 16 runs, 2-21.
In the top of the 4th, Marcelo hit a solo home run, 3-21. In the 5th inning, Jimenez and Aidan Martinez both had solo home runs, 5-21.
KWU scored six runs in the 5th and 6th innings, 5-27.
In the 7th inning, Mata Lloyd singled, Jimenez walked, and a single by Martinez moved Mata Lloyd and pinch runner Connor Flynn. Brady Cardozo singled to score Mata Lloyd and Flynn, 7-27.
GAME TWO- Bluejays 5 Coyotes 8
Miguel Ramos III hit a double to start the 2nd inning. Garryn Plummer hit a 2-run home run to score 2-0. KWU scored one off a solo home run, 2-1.
In the 3rd inning, the Coyotes scored 3 to get ahead, 2-4.
Micah Dvorak hit a home run to add another run to the board in the 4th, 3-4. In the next inning, Juan Rosa-Gonzalez singled, Ramos III singled, and a sac fly by Trotter Boston moved Rosa-Gonzalez and Ramos III. Plummer hit a single to score Rosa-Gonzalez, 4-4.
The 7th inning, the Bluejays got back out in front. Boston walked, Plummer sac bunted, and Dvorak doubled to score Boston, 5-4.
To come back and win, Kansas Wesleyan hit a walk-off home run, 5-8.
GAME THREE- Bluejays 2 Coyotes 10
Marcelo Aguirre hit a solo home run to right field in the 2nd inning, 1-0.
Kansas Wesleyan scored five in the 3rd and one in the 4th, 1-6. They added another 2 runs in the 6th, 1-8.
The Bluejays scored their final run in the 7th inning. Aguirre walked, Garryn Plummer singled and Aguirre advanced to third. Micah Dvorak singled through the right side to score Aguirre, 2-8.
Another two runs by the Coyotes in the 8th finished the game, 2-10.
The Bluejays are home on Tuesday, April 16th to play game three against the University of Saint Mary Spires. The first pitch will be at 2 p.m.
