LEAVENWORTH, Kan. — The last time the University of Saint Mary and Tabor College played was on Tuesday, April 2nd in Hillsboro. The Spires were always in arms reach to win the game but that was not the case this past game in Leavenworth. The Bluejays run-ruled the Spires, 19-3. This win was Head Coach Mark Standiford's 600th career win.
GAME TWO- Bluejays 19 Spires 3
Tyler Mata Lloyd was walked to start the game, Jackie Jimenez was walked, and Juan Rosa-Gonzalez hit a single to move the runners. Miguel Ramos III was hit by a pitch and Mata Lloyd scored. Marcelo Aguirre hit an RBI to score Jimenez, 2-0.
The Spires then came in and scored two runs, 2-2.
The Bluejays scored seven in the 3rd inning. Mikey Acosta doubled, Cody Moore singled, and Rosa-Gonzalez hit a sac fly to score Acosta. Ramos III singled, Aguirre walked, and with bases loaded Trotter Boston walked and Moore scored. Garryn Plummer hit a single that scored Ramos III and Aguirre. Micah Dvorak singled and scored Boston. Moore singled to score Plummer, 9-2.
In the next few innings, the Jays added six more runs, 15-2.
Saint Mary scored one more run in the 5th inning, 15-3.
The Bluejays scored four runs to make it 19-3 in seven innings.
The Bluejays play Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas on Saturday, April 13th at 1:00 p.m.
