TUCSON, Ariz. – The Bluejay ladies had a short turnaround from playing two games on Friday and would play two more on Saturday. Tabor had gone 1-1 in the games on Friday, blanking University of Puget Sound 9-0 and falling to a tough Arizona Christian University squad, 6-2.
Game One
The Bluejays would take on Dickinson State University in the first game of the day. Coming into the game, the Blue Hawks had been run ruled by Arizona Christian in their first game, 15-0, and lost to Ottawa University Arizona, 2-0 in their second game. The Bluejays wouldn't have any problem getting runners on base, with six hits being recorded, as well as several walks. The problem, however, was that no matter how many runners would reach the bases, none would score for the Bluejays. The Blue Hawks would score two runs in the 5
th Inning, due in part by the Bluejays committing three errors. Dickinson State would score their third run in the 7
th Inning and would win, 3-0.
Marisa Carranza was charged with the loss.
Game Two
Tabor would look to bounce back in the second game, facing Ottawa University Arizona. The Spirit had won their two games prior against University of Puget Sound and Dickinson State University with bvoth games being shutouts. The Spirit would score two runs in the 1
st Inning, one in the 3
rd, and three in the fourth, before the Bluejays could get on the board with two runs in the 6
th Inning. The Bluejays would go on to drop the second game, 7-2.
